PCGamesN - The best Minecraft servers
Sail, build, and plunder in PirateCraft, a server dedicated to the golden age of scurvy and theft.
PirateCraft is one of the most ambitious servers weโve played on and even has a fully-functioning ship-to-ship combat mechanic.
As with all Minecraft ideas of such magnitude, itโs a little clunky, but it works. Ships can be built and sailed across the seas, cannons can be mounted to the hull, and then used to fire at enemy vessels.
On land, a simple but functional economy replicates the trade and booty of the period, and players can create their own Minecraft builds on โsafe zonesโ in order to bunk and store treasures in.
Safe Zones are protected from griefers, meaning you can build as much as you like without fear of others trashing your masterpieces.
Piratecraftโs salty setting makes it one of the best Minecraft roleplay servers. Of course, if youโre roleplaying a pirate thereโs going to be some grief involved, and provided the owner is in a Safe Zone, other players can siege them. Attackers can destroy โsoftโ blocks, and generally make a nuisance of themselves until they either walk away or the defender surrenders. Similarly, ships can be stolen, provided the owner is not onboard at the time.
So if youโre looking for a PvP Minecraft server with a twist, this could be the buried treasure you seek.
PC Gamer - The best Minecraft servers
Sailing a ship around in Minecraft is tricky, but in PirateCraft, they do a surprisingly good job of making it work.
As is often the way with these Minecraft survival servers, it takes a bit of time to get used to things, but itโs well worth the effort if you like the idea.
The scale of the ships is impressive, as is the ship-to-ship combat. Just donโt be surprised when someone nicks your pirate ship. Thereโs no honour among thieves.

Pirate ships arenโt the most compatible mechanic to implement to Minecraft, but Piratecraft does a surprisingly admirable job of bringing the golden age of piracy to blocky life.
The ambitious server does take some time to get used to, but is worth learning for the impressive ship-to-ship combat.
You can dock at ports also and join the other landlubbers to trade with a functional currency, and even store your treasure in safe zones.
In true pirate fashion, however, ships can be stolen โ so be on your guard.
